at the origin of the adventure: The orchards of Séru

Milo Ternynck and his son Matthieu have fallen for the Rubis Gold® in 2011, during a visit to the nurseryman Johan Nicolai. 

Seduced by its gustatory qualities and its particular colour, they have created over the last 5 years an eco-responsible orchard of nearly 35 hectares to develop the production of Rubis Gold®and are now joined by the European producers' collective.

They are now participating in the adventure Rubis Gold®

Today, associated in a collective of committed producers passionate about taste, the Rubis Gold® continues its conquest among the largest apple producers.

The High Environmental Value (HVE) guarantees that the agricultural practices used on the whole of a farm preserve the natural ecosystem and reduce to a minimum the pressure on the environment (soil, water, air, landscape...). This is a voluntary approach that is implemented by our producers, around 4 main themes:

  • the preservation of biodiversity 
  • plant health strategy 
  • fertilisation management 
  • water resource management

All of our French producers (Séru, Mylord, Perlim Melim and Blue Whale) have High Environmental Value certified orchards.

For over 20 years, French apple growers have been committed to an eco-responsible production approach. United within the National Apple and Pear Association, they share the same ethic: to produce healthy, tasty, quality fruit using production methods that respect the environment and biodiversity in the orchards, while ensuring the economic balance of the farms. Vergers Écoresponsables is the label that identifies apples and pears produced in the framework of this approach, since 2011. A sustainable commitment to modern arboriculture, which preserves and feeds on natural balances in order to remain in tune with the world around it.

All of our French producers (Vergers de Séru, Mylord, the Perlim Meylim alliance and Blue Whale) have orchards that are certified as Vergers écoresponsables.
